Coral

Red Coral is the common name given to Corallium rubrum, a type of coral that grows very deep in the ocean. It is a durable, intensely colored coral that is usually polished. Red Coral has been harvested since antiquity. There has recently been much controversy over the sustainability of harvesting Red Coral, and, thus, much Red Coral is a dyed version of easily harvested coral from the Philippenes.
