Jasper

Jasper is an opaque, impure variety of silica that is usually red, yellow or brown. It often contains organic materials and mineral oxides that lend the stones interesting patterns, sometimes resembling landscapes. Its name is from the Greek iaspis for “spotted or speckled stone”.
