Pearl

Pearls consist of calcium carbonate, conchiolin and a small quantity of water. They are naturally formed in shellfish such as oysters or mussels, are generally globular, and range in color from white to gray, black, brown or pink (depending upon the type of mollusk and the water). It is the birthstone for the month of June.
