Quartz

Quartz is a silicon dioxide and one of the most widely distributed minerals in the earth’s crust. Quartz may be colorless and transparent or have smoky appearance. It can even be black, yellow, brown, violet, pink or white and milky.

Rose Quartz is a type of quartz with a typically cloudy pink color whose presence is due to small amounts of titanium. Rose Quartz is popular in crystal healing, and is strongly associated with the heart chakra.

Rutilated Quartz is a type of quartz with a clear to cloudy ground that contains rich needle-like inclusions. These inclusions can be sparse or dense and are typically black to a rich, reddish brown. This type of quartz may also be known as “Hair Quartz”.

Smoky Quartz and Brown Quartz are types of crystalline quartz that, due to natural irradiation, have developed a light to dark brown color, or a grayish brown “smoky” appearance.
