Zoisite

Zoisite belongs to the epidote group of minerals. It is named after the Slovene scientist Baron Sigmund Zois von Edelstein, who discovered it in the Saualpe mountains of Carinthia in 1805. It occurs as translucent to opaque, variable in color, but usually green. It is sometimes shot through with ruby crystals.
