Shape Descriptions
Most shape descriptions of beads are rather self-explanatory, while others remain somewhat vague or complicated. The beads for sale on our website come with verbal descriptions and matching pictures to clear up any confusion, but we have listed below some diagrams of the more complicated shape descriptions.
This website has a high volume of briolet strands for sale. Briolets are typically top-drilled, teardrop-shaped beads. The briolets that are rounded and bulbous at the larger end are classified simply as ”Teardrops”. Those briolets that are flat (not bulbous) are either classified as “Heart-” or “Pear-” Shaped. The ”Heart-Shaped” Briolets are NOT shaped like a true heart, but are instead a squattier shape of briolet and measure the same in height and width. ”Pear-Shaped” Briolets are truly pear shaped, measuring taller than they are wide. ”Briolet” may also simply indicate that it is a top-drilled bead that isn’t necessarily teardrop-shaped. While we aim to have a cohesive system for description, different staff members have different methods of entering data. If there is any confusion, hopefully the product’s accompanying photos can clarify matters.
